This amazing, super detailed layout has a ton of really dense scenery and I love it. With a rather small footprint overall, Natsu just went for it and really got some fantastic Japanese flavor in the layout. TONS of people and signage and action makes this one of my favorite rich scenery layouts I've seen.

Now, I know this style is not for everyone, but it makes me super happy. I'd love to just sit and stare at it for a while as I took photos. I'm sure there's a ton of things to see in the space.

And, it's really not all that wild or wacky. It's pretty much super prototypical save the helicopters and monsters scattered about. :::grin:::  So much to see!

I love all the signs and people

This was the look I was going to go for in my SHIZUKA city section of my layout. Rich, dense, and packed with people and signage.

These little detail areas make me happy! :)

Fantastic work!!! Looking forward to seeing more shots in the future!

N•RAIL DEEP DIVE: Kitbashed Buildings On My Layout

I'm trying out a little "deep dive" video series for various aspects of my layout. The first one covers some of the buildings and structures I've pieced together. I keep getting little notes and requests for more information and thought this might be a good way to handle it.

Let me know if there are items you'd be interested in my focusing on in the future!

Vending Kitbash and Hobby Fun

I've been sitting on this post for a long while. I just have not felt like writing about the hobby lately. If I have the time, I want to actually DO things! hehehe

So, I'm going to keep this REALLY lite and make it more about the photos that chatting.

KATO Platform Kitbash
A little diner place on an old platform.

Vending Machine Kitbash
I plan on doing more of these little kitbash projects in the future. It was a lot of fun.

Based on places like these....

Styrene base and card stock roof and sides. Vending machines are paper craft from Sankei.

Outland Models Railway Modern 5-Story Commercial Building Unpainted N Scale

I snagged another model from Outland Models. Their buildings are super solid and actually go together for the most part without glue due to their peg system. Of course, I had to build out all the floors with people...that you can't really even see. heheheheh

I wanted to add some color to the building, so I sprayed the piece for the front.

Signage and people outside made it pop.

In place....

And....just some shots. :)

GUNDAM!

Thanks for reading! <><>

Marukomushinia kitbash makeover

It was my late Father's birthday today, so this weekend I revamped the small kitbash I made in his honor. I wanted to make it look a bit less like a market with a building on top of it. :::grin:::

The origial was just that - a market with a building popped on top.

I dug the overall space, but wanted to play with the colors a bit. I went with a red detail instead of the blue.

I also wanted to mirror a bit more of the wood on the sides of the base building to make the wooden rooftop building make a bit more sense. I used card stock for the wood panels.

Ah...it's all starting to come together!

I still need to put another coat of red on tonight. That should be rather straight forward. I also want to get some more people on the roof with a few more roof and general building details.

In place, the building is looking much better. I'm happy with the touch up.

The lore behind the place is that it's where my Dad could really shine. He was a great party guest and people loved his humor and general happy nature. So, I thought that this could be a place where he's the owner / operator, slipping through the crowds of dinner and dancing guests and playing the host. He'd be known in Soyokaze and Shizuka and the place would be the kind of place people would talk about and bring out of town guests to.

"You HAVE to check this place out! The owner is a super cool guy and really funny!"

Miss ya, Dad!
