MAN! The model rail road hobby is an evil and nasty addiction! It must be stopped!
Why doesn't someone form some sort of AA-like club for me?
“Hi, I'm Malcolm and I'm addicted to the model rail hobby.” “Hi, Malcolm.”
Project after project pops up. The need for a new car or building or....SOMETHING comes up almost daily. Lunch time hobby shop runs not only take up time but cash as well. Obviously, this can not go on. But, how to stop it...besides just running out of actual cash to spend on the hobby. :)
I know what fuels this fire, however. It's obvious as well. There's an equation for it, too.
stress + lack of sleep + feeling of overwork = web searches + buying – cash
The more I feel the pressures of daily life, the more I want to rush over to my favorite train website and make a few purchases. However, I've come up with a possible solution to all this - spending more time on what I already have for one thing.
I need to go back in on buildings and sets I already own and detail them. Sure, I may talk myself into some additional detailing nuggets from time to time, but it won't be as costly as whole buildings and things. Lack of space doesn't warrant more anyway.
Also, I want to start planning for a future layout that may come when we have more space. This will be after some move in some possible future....sometime, but planning will be fun and exciting. Dreaming of a day when all the many pieces of my hobby can be combined into one area and linked with a series of tracks. I can't wait.
So, for now....I need to pace myself. Nothing else gets done until my growing list of projects I have currently gets knocked down to zero. At the rate I tend to work on things, that should be around the end of 2014. :)

Some AMAZING work here. I found myself staring at these images and just shaking my head and smiling. Great attention to detail and and some fantastic pieces. The scenes are so well thought out and the execution is grade A. Bravo!
